Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search tool is sent to the third-party company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its result. Eagle County Court Docket does not keep a separate log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Data We Gather Automatically
Site infrastructure receives basic technical details when a visitor loads a page:
- Page-view times and the pages visited
- Device type and operating system
- The referring website, when one is supplied
- Browser name and version
- The device IP address
- Approximate time spent on a page
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help measure which pages receive traffic and where visits end. Analytics providers combine that activity into site-performance reports. A browser can block cookies, though doing so may change how some functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Route a submitted query to the selected partner
- Diagnose errors and performance problems
- Measure which reference pages are useful
- Operate and secure the website
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Eagle County Court Docket does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of case information. It publishes general directions to the Colorado Judicial Branch Docket Search, Eagle Combined Courts, and municipal clerks. Official court-record access is governed by CJD 05-01 and Chapter 38 of the Colorado Rules of Court. The Colorado Criminal Justice Records Act applies to criminal justice records, while the Colorado Open Records Act governs many administrative records rather than serving as the sole route to a court case file. Visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the embedded search tools. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and sharing rules apply to information submitted there. This policy does not control a partner's system. Read that provider's policy before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Colorado courts, clerk resources, legal-aid organizations, or outside search services. The destination's privacy policy controls after a visitor follows that link. Review it before sending personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be received by:
- Analytics services measuring traffic and performance
- A search partner processing a submitted query
- Advertising networks serving content
- A government body when a valid legal demand requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected information. No internet system can guarantee complete security, so a breach or unauthorized access cannot be ruled out.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under eighteen. Information identified as belonging to a minor will be removed as required.
Your Data Rights
Colorado law and the law where you live may provide rights over personal data. Subject to applicable limits, you may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as practices or legal duties change. A replacement version will be posted here with its new effective date.
